Kylie, Director
Kylie is our center director and Toddlerville teacher. Kylie started at Grammy’s Garden 5 years ago as an after-school teacher and quickly worked her way up to Director. Kylie bounces around all the classrooms and has a gift for establishing a close relationship with each and every child and family. She says she once wanted to go to cosmetology school to become a hairdresser but shortly decided that childcare was the way to go for her! Kylie has since started pursuing education in Early Childhood Education.
Kayla, Toddlerville and Head Teacher
Kayla is the Head Teacher of Grammy’s Garden and works in our Toddlerville classroom. Kayla re-joined Grammy’s Garden in the Fall of 2022 after furthering her education and we are so happy to welcome her back! Kayla loves spending time with her dog, Thor, and playing and watching sports (especially baseball!). Welcome words from Kayla, “In my classroom you are safe and cared for. Every single child is unique and talented in their own ways. All of your feelings, emotions, and ideas are valued.” Kayla is excited to get know all of the families at Grammy’s!
Tena, Lead Preschool Teacher
Tena is the head Preschool Teacher at Grammy’s Garden. Tena came to Grammy’s Garden in the fall of 2019 with over twenty years of experience in the childcare industry. Tena is a mom to three sons and has one adorable grandson! In her spare time, Tena enjoys watching movies from the 1930s-1940s, reading, and dabbling in crochet. Tena says, “I am delighted to be a part of Grammy’s Garden Learning Center and I look forward to teaching and watching your children grow into all they can be as they discover their world.” Tena’s favorite children’s book is “Guess How Much I Love You.”
Haley, Lead Storkville Teacher
Meet Haley, our lead Storkville teacher. Haley comes to Grammy’s with experience caring for children of all ages, but snuggling out littlest students is her specialty! Haley is currently in nursing school and has plans to continue her career in pediatrics. Haley just loves working with children and says she can’t wait to bond with all of your little ones and create amazing experiences here at Grammy’s!
Jordan, Toddlerville Teacher
Jordan is one of our assistant Toddlerville teachers. Before finding her home in Toddlerville, Jordan also worked with our preschoolers and spent time as a nanny for three girls who taught her so much! Jordan’s love of her students is evident and there isn’t a day that she doesn’t walk into her classroom with a bright and infectious smile. Jordan has plans to continue her education in Early Childhood. In her spare time, Jordan enjoys snuggling with her two cats and listening to music.
Nikki, Lead Toddlerville Teacher
Nikki is one of our lead Toddlerville teachers and has been with Grammy’s Garden since October of 2015. Nikki has worked with all different age groups since being at Grammy’s, but says she enjoys working with the one year olds the best. She really loves helping them to reach their milestones! Nikki is also a mother and in her spare time, she enjoys any outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing.
Nina, Storkville Teacher
Nina is one of our Storkville teachers; however, you may find her in toddlerville or preschool from time to time! Nina has been working in childcare since 2006 and she says she loves children and has always felt like a kid at heart! Nina started at Grammy’s in 2017 and loves the close-knit family atmosphere. In her free time, Nina enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hiking, kayaking, or relaxing on the beach.
Karen,Teacher’s Aide
Karen has been a teacher at Grammy’s since 2016 and she spends time in each of our classrooms throughout the day, helping to give our staff members a much deserved break! Karen says that she loves every minute with the children and thinks of them like her extended grandkids. Karen always has a smile on her face and she says that at the end of the day she always feels so loved. You can’t ask for much more than that!
Marlissa, Teacher’s Aide
Marlissa has been working for Grammy’s Garden on and off for three years. She is currently a first year college student majoring in biology. Marlissa has a love for taking care of children and has plans to become a pediatrician one day! When she’s not in school studying, Marlissa joins our team at Grammy’s Garden and we always love having her. Marlissa says the reason she keeps coming back is because she loves the children and she wants to continue to help them grow and develop into who they’re meant to be.
